The panel comes out, the worn parts get shown to you, and the price is written down before anything is replaced. How much does sliding door repair cost?
Repairs start at $185, which covers a roller replacement on a standard two-panel door. A job that also needs the track capped, the latch re-set and new weatherstrip costs more. Glass replacement starts at $395 and a complete door replacement starts at $1,450 installed. Every price is written down before work starts.
Do you charge for the estimate or a trip fee?

Can my sliding door be repaired, or do I need a new one?
The large majority of doors are repairable. Rollers, tracks, guides, latches, weatherstrip and even the sealed glass unit are all serviceable parts, and a sound frame is worth keeping. Replacement is the right call when the frame is corroded or out of square, when it is a discontinued profile with no parts available, or when a single-pane door is making a room unusable — and we will tell you which situation you are in.

Why is my sliding door so hard to open?
Almost always two worn parts making contact: rollers that have gone out of round or seized, and a bottom track they have cut a groove into. Each makes the other worse, which is why a door goes from slightly stiff to needing a shoulder over a few seasons.
My door was repaired recently and it is dragging again. Why?
Nine times out of ten the track was never addressed. Once a roller has cut a channel into soft builder aluminum, a new wheel drops straight back into that channel and the panel sits low again within weeks. The fix is capping or replacing the track — and capping around existing rollers is a smaller job than starting over.
Do you replace fogged patio door glass?
Yes. Fog between the panes means the perimeter seal has failed and the argon has escaped. The sealed glass unit is replaced while the frame, panel, rollers and hardware stay as they are, which costs a fraction of a new door. Sealed units are made to order, so expect roughly one to two weeks from measure to fitting.
Can you make a sliding door more secure?
Yes, and it is one of the most worthwhile upgrades on a patio door. A working mortise latch aligned to its keeper, a properly fitted foot bolt, and an anti-lift device that stops the panel being lifted out of the track from outside together make a standard slider a genuinely difficult entry point. A dowel in the track does none of that.
